Day 2 (Saturday)


In Flanders Fields Museum in the Cloth Hall, Ypres.

AM: 1 hour drive to Ypres to visit the WWI In Flanders Fields Museum(8 each)

Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917, located in the Zonnebeke Chateau

PM: 15 minute drive to Paschendale Memorial Museum (8 each)

Trench remains in Sanctuary Wood near Ypres on the Ypres Salient battlefields.

15 minute drive to the Sanctuary Woods Museum (8 each)


45 minute drive back to camp


Day3 (Sunday)

Fast forward 30 years...




1 Hour drive to Batterie Todt Museum one of the largest cross channel artillery batteries of WWII (8 each)


15 minute drive to Cap Gris-Nez, the closest point to main land England, and a fortified location used by Henry VIII, Napoleon and of course Hitler.

Day 4 (Monday)


AM: Pack up the tents, and drive 35 minutes to Dunkirk Operation Dynamo Museum (4.5 each)

15 minute drive to the beach, scene of the BEF evacuation in 1940, and remnants of the Atlantic wall to be explored.


A 45 minute drive then takes us to the ferry port in Calais & back to blighty.
